Two Waves Entertainment is a Los Angeles based media production company founded with the goal of creating compelling unscripted content for broadcast, cable, and digital platforms. Co-Founders Laura Pierson and Michael Hinkley cultivated their partnership at Hallmark Channel’s three-time Emmy nominated lifestyle morning show, "Home & Family," where they served multiple roles, including Co-Executive Producers. Premiering in 2012, this daily 2-hour show, aired 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year through 2021. In their tenure, Michael and Laura produced over 1700 episodes, four Primetime Christmas specials, and two televised weddings.

Laura Pierson | Co-Founder

Laura Pierson is an Emmy nominated, multi-faceted television producer who has overseen a wide variety of entertainment programming. Prior to her Co-Executive Producer role with Hallmark Channel's “Home & Family,” she launched the series as a Segment Producer, moving swiftly into a Supervising Producer role, then heading up the talent department. Her career was greatly affected and propelled by her tenure at "Entertainment Tonight" and "The Insider" where she jumped quickly from Production Assistant, to Talent Executive, to Field Producer, covering numerous high-profile stories and interviewing some of the most influential people in the industry. However, Laura’s experience in unscripted television truly became all-encompassing when she won Season 26 of the multi-Emmy Award-winning reality series, "The Amazing Race".

Michael Hinkley| Co-Founder

With nearly 20 years of producing and post-production experience, Michael Hinkley has shaped and told stories that run an impressive gamut of genres and styles. His career began on the east coast with Avid Technology, consulting for film and television projects in both the non-fiction and scripted worlds. Before taking on the role of Co-Executive Producer at “Home & Family,” Michael helped launch the series, crafting episodes as lead editor and Supervising Producer. His additional work can be seen on HGTV, Bravo, A&E, Disney, OWN, and NBC’s Today Show, among others.

Mark Long| VP of Development

Mark Long is a TV Personality and Executive Producer. He's been in the world of reality television since the mid 90's and his peers have given him the nickname "The Godfather of Reality TV". He has been a fixture on MTV's "The Challenge" franchise for over 20 years. In 2020, he pitched Paramount+ a concept called "All Stars" which they picked up and is in its fourth season. He serves as Executive Producer and the show's huge success helped Paramount+ become the "biggest growing business" of 2021. Mark was recently honored with three American Reality TV Award nominations for his work as Executive Producer on "The Challenge: All Stars."

 

Mark is also a Host. He was the Gadget Guru for the new "Donny and Marie Show," as well as "Soap Talk with Lisa Rinna." He also hosted the series, "Born American," for the Fine Living Network where he showed his audience new and cutting edge products that were all made in America. He's had his own morning show on E! Entertainment, and hosted the longest running series for the Fox Reality Network called "Reality Remix."

 

In his mission to give back to others, Mark joined forces with non-profits such as Hearts of Reality, to raise funds and awareness for Give Kids the World Village. Over his years with the charity, Mark has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars.
